Rosana Mihanović

Rosana Mihanović is a law student at the Faculty of Law in Zagreb and comes from the Romani settlement of Sitnice in Međimurje. Through her perseverance, hard work, and the support of those close to her, she has overcome numerous obstacles and exceeded the expectations of her surroundings.

From a young age, Rosana dreamed of becoming a lawyer or judge. During her elementary and high school education, she struggled with learning the Croatian language and often received poor grades. A turning point in her life came when she was adopted and moved in with a lawyer in Zagreb. This new environment gave her the opportunity to begin pursuing her dreams and continue her education in a more supportive setting.

Despite the challenges and prejudice she encountered, Rosana succeeded in achieving her goal — enrollment at the Faculty of Law. Her family supported her throughout her educational journey, which was crucial to her success.

Although she now lives in Zagreb, Rosana still happily visits her large family in Međimurje whenever time allows. Her story is an inspiring example of how courage, persistence, and support can help one overcome limitations and follow their dreams.
